Day 0: Welcome to Basis of the Mind

Hello,  welcome to Papaya Mind’s Basis of the Mind. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive picture of how the mind works on a psychological level by guiding you through audio visualizations, meditations and different exercises.

We aim to make knowledge as comprehensible and interactive as possible and we’d like you to feel like a friendly voice is guiding you on a journey to explore and understand your mind.

When we understand where we’re coming from with a compassionate view, we are no longer powerless, but powerful to embrace acceptance and change. We created this program as an open portal to a new vision and understanding, allowing new pathways to form in the way you see and experience life. Ultimately, much of the problems and suffering we encounter are deeply connected to the narrative and meaning we attach to past events, present experiences and even future possibilities.

In this program we’ll dive into what is a belief system and how it’s formed, the conscious and unconscious mind, the formation of our identity, the basic psychological needs we move for, what is the ego, the symbolic functioning of the mind and a brief dive into emotions.

We hope this program will help you achieve a perhaps more compassionate overview of your mind and will provide some insights to start perceiving the world a little bit differently one day at a time.

Our principles:

1.-We aim to understand the origin of our thought’s process and beliefs to understand ourselves in a more compassionate way. Our mission is to develop self-awareness.

2.-We are not obliged to do anything with it, just a simple realization can have an enormous impact on the way we experience life.

3.-Nothing we’ll explore these days is good or bad: being aware of a pattern within us is not an invitation to punish ourselves, but rather the opposite, to understand ourselves with compassion by seeing the why’s and how’s.

4.-By developing awareness we become more free because we are no longer dependent on unconscious ways of acting. This way, we can choose how to respond instead of being a victim of our automation. We are no longer creating a future based on our past.

5.-The mission of Papaya Mind is to give you tools to be your own guide, to learn to self-regulate and be your own figure of authority regarding your life; since no one knows you better than you.

This is not an act of self-healing, but an act of self-discovery and self-creation to become your best companion. It is never too late to give your mental health a fresh new start.

To do the daily practices you’ll need:

  • A quiet, private space
  • Headphones for a better experience
  • Some pieces of paper
  • A pen
  • Any drawing or painting supplies you have on hand
  • A curious, open mind

*Remember to download Papaya Mind’s app from the website (you’ll see a button that says Install) to be able to listen to the audios with your phone screen locked. If you don’t see the button:

  • On Android:
    1. Open the browser menu (three dots in the top right corner).
    2. Look for “Add to Home screen” and tap it.
    3. Confirm to add the app icon to your home screen.
  • On iPhone:
    1. Tap the share button (square with an arrow pointing up).
    2. Scroll down and select “Add to Home Screen.”
    3. Confirm to add the app icon to your home screen.

Once added, you can open the app from your home screen and listen to the audio even with your screen locked.

May the journey begin!
